Patients get smoother onboarding with their new medication from the very start. More than 80 percent of CVS Specialty patient records are visible via electronic health records connectivity¹, allowing for fast benefits verification and a streamlined prior authorization process for providers, helping patients get their medications quickly.

Patients can conveniently order prescriptions and refills online or using the CVS Specialty mobile app, and choose home delivery or pick up at most CVS Pharmacy® locations. 

A robust digital ecosystem provides patients with access to an array of digital tools, clinical support and programs that empower them to take charge of their health in ways that are most convenient for them.

Patients can monitor prescription status, get email and text reminders to help with adherence, and use secure messaging to contact their CareTeam for condition-specific drug treatment and medication resources. A specialty pharmacist is also available for every patient.

Patients also get proactive outreach to help keep them on track with treatment. For example, during the prescription fill process, we use Intelligent Medication Monitoring (IMM) with advanced analytics, digital outreach and live clinical support to identify if a patient is experiencing unpleasant side effects or ineffective treatment and can intervene when appropriate, working with the prescriber to change or stop therapy.
